The latest developments and progress at Corrib RFC.

  • Rugby Resumes:
Rugby is back underway, and it's fantastic to see everyone back on the field, playing the sport we all love.
  • Gear Update:
We have now received the majority of the new replacement jerseys and training equipment that was lost during the off-season. This includes parts for our scrum machine and replacement of the post pads for the main pitch. This was a significant piece of work with suppliers and was financed through the funds from the GoFundMe campaign.
New socks and shorts are now available for purchase. For more information on how to purchase, kindly contact Stephen Kelly on WhatsApp at 086 8031239.
  • Insurance Enhancements:
We've worked diligently to enhance our insurance options, ensuring better coverage for all members.
  • Pitch Resurfacing Success:
The pitch resurfacing project was a major success. This was a significant financial investment, made possible through the successful Golf AmAm event that was held during the summer. We encourage everyone to follow the directions of the Operations Committee regarding its usage and maintenance.
  • Improved Training Pitch:
Ongoing improvements, including additional lighting, are being made to the training pitch to provide an even better training experience. This was also funded via the proceeds of the Golf AmAm.
  • Enhanced Security Measures:
To ensure a safer environment, CCTV cameras will soon be installed, helping reduce anti-social activity.
  • Prefab Office Donation:
The prefab office generously donated by Connacht Rugby is now in place and nearing readiness for use. We envisage this new facility to be used for team meetings and presentations, especially during the winter months.
  • Collaborative Fundraising Strategy for Operational Expenditure:
Our Fundraising Committee is introducing a Collaborative Funding approach across the club to support operational expenses. This collaborative effort aims to combat the year-on-year increase in our day-to-day operational expenditure.
  • GoFundMe Campaign Update and Future Plans:
The funds raised from the GoFundMe campaign have been drawn down. After replacing the lost jerseys and equipment, the remaining funds will be ring fenced in a holding state in the club's account. The Executive Committee, in conjunction with the Operations Committee, is finalising a long-term strategic plan for future rebuilding works, ensuring these funds are utilised effectively.
